Diego J. Garza is a Los Angeles based artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans video & film, installation, sculpture, photography and drawing. His current work attempts to seize moments or situations through the aesthetics of disorder. It is a schizophrenic inquiry where the irrational is the determining filter for how we negotiate and interact within the networks of domination and oppression. This inquiry does not simply address the effects of these systems; but rather, skins and strips away at the complexity of interactions within them, whether it is through our capitulation or total dissent.
He received his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2006 and his BA in Studio Arts and Film & Visual Cultures from the University of California, Riverside in 2004.
